Let's Get Fit
By Mark Lardas
It’s January
2007. You look up & realize that you and your family have been
over-indulging almost continuously since Thanksgiving. You ate
too much, drank too much, and spent too much. The only thing
you didn’t over-do was exercise – unless you count lifting
platters off the buffet table. You feel . . . flabby. Your
spouse looks flabby too.
Your kids?
They are perfect, of course, but it might not hurt perfection to
get them moving some. Especially since everyone’s clothes fit
like sausage casings. Your resolutions this year include
getting in shape and spending more time with the family. Ah-ha!
Why not combine them, and get in shape as a family? Where
could you and your family be in a year if you stick to the
family fitness plan?
Exercising as a
family is possible. You don’t need fancy equipment, or a
fitness center, especially if you have kids twelve and under. A
fitness center can help, but only if everyone is ready to
participate, not spectate.
